Reset a Printer Port:
Windows automatically installs printers to a default port; however, software system and networking configurations might need changes. If a printer in your workplace cannot hook up with a pc, one amongst the primary steps in troubleshooting the matter is to reset the printer to the default port. Most printers currently hook up with computers employing a USB cable, however, some printers still use 25-pin parallel connections, therefore the default port to that you reset the printer might vary.
Step 1
Click the “Start” button on your Windows desktop and choose the “Control Panel” choice.
Step 2
Click “Devices and Printers.”
Step 3
Right-click on the icon representing your printer and choose “Properties.” Click the “Ports” tab.
Step 4
Uncheck the port presently in use and check the box for the computer’s default printer association. this can be either USB001 or LPT1, betting on whether the printer connects to the pc via USB cable or a 25-pin port.
Step 5
Click the “Apply” button to avoid wasting the changes and reset the printer port.
